ANTHONY KUHARSKI
Date of Passing: Feb 15, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTHONY KUHARSKI Peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2001, Tony Kuharski in his 86th year, passed away in Neepawa, Man. Funeral services were held in Neepawa on Tuesday, February 20. When Tonys father and mother George and Sofie Kuharski emigrated from Poland they brought with them four children. They landed in Buffalo, New York and took the train to Neepawa. They farmed in the Polonia and Eden Districts and had seven more children. Tony was the ninth of the 11 children. Tony farmed with his mother and father until the time he married Helen Suski, October 18, 1941. Tony and Helen acquired land and farmed, very successfully, in the Eden district for approximately 40 years. When Tony and Helen retired from farming, they continued to live on the farm, rent the land out and Tony drove the school bus. A job he held for 12 years. Tony and Helen moved to Neepawa in 1981 and remained there to the time of his death. Although he never took vacations, Tony spent many hours playing cards with friends and relatives. When the kids got older there were many late nights playing Whist. Even as late as this fall he would play cribbage with his grandchildren and son-in-law Tom Turner. Tony enjoyed hunting and fishing. In part to put food on the table but also because he loved to be outdoors and understood nature. After moving to Neepawa his passion became gardening. You would never find a weed in Tonys garden and he was very proud of the vegetables his garden produced. Due to a stroke Tony spent the last few years physically restricted and virtually housebound, but his mind and thinking remained clear and sharp. He kept up on current affairs and his opinions on many issues were expressed with definition. Tony was a good provider and was very generous, both materially and financially. He was a man of few words, however he was a man of great feelings. This was especially shown towards his grandchildren. Tony was predeceased by his father George and mother Sofie; brothers, Frank, Stanley, John, Joe, Louie and Eddie; sisters, Nellie, Verna and Mary. Tony is survived by one sister Pearl Suski, Neepawa, Man. He leaves to mourn his wife of 59 years, Helen; his children, daughter Leona Crowe of Oakbank, Man.; son Ernie Kuharski and his wife Terri of Windsor, ont. and their children, Ken and Michelle; son John Kuharski and Bonnie of Oshawa, Ont. and Johns children, Paul, Sandy and John Jr.; daughter Dolores and her husband Larry Hogan, Winnipeg; son Joe Kuharski of Ile des Chenes, Man. and his children, Robert and Chantelle; daughter Mary-Ann and her husband Tom Turner of Rosetown, Sask. and their children, Dusty and Kelly; son Tim Kuharski and his wife Monica of Swan River, Man. and their children, Christopher, Bryce and Brett. Tony is also survived by four great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all the many friends and relatives for their support shown to us and our mother.
