Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMA IRENE HOWELL (nee SHERRIS) September 24, 1931- June 8, 2001 With her family by her side, Norma Irene Howell peacefully passed away at Riverview Health Centre. Norma will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Don; son David; daughters, Debra (Howard) Tokar, Sharon (Al) Henderson, Barbara (Doug Fairbairn). Gran will also be sadly missed by granddaughters, Jennifer, Rebecca, Stephanie; grandsons, Christopher, Michael, Jacob, William, Iain and great-granddaughter Allyson. Also left to cherish her memory are brothers, Wesley (Eunice) Sherris and Keith (Louise) Sherris; sister-in-law Betty Leonard; Aunt Ada Armstrong-Taylor and Aunt Evelyn Rush as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Of special mention is the devotion and love of her lifelong dear friend Marjory (Roy) Gardner. Norma was predeceased by her parents Harry & Myrtle Sherris and brother Clifford. Norma was born in the R.M. of Odanah, near Minnedosa, MB. There she attended Roseneath School and later attended finishing school at St. Michaels Academy and Wheat City Business College in Brandon. After their marriage in 1951, Norma and Don lived in Brandon before moving to Winnipeg in 1967. Norma devoted her life to raising their family, and her greatest joys were the times spent with her children and grandchildren. Norma also took great pleasure in gardening, music, bird watching, travelling, cribbage and especially holding gatherings for family and friends. The family wishes to extend their thanks to family physician Dr. A.G. Jowett of Charleswood Medical Clinic and to Drs. Garcia and DeGroot, nurses and staff of 3E Riverview. In lieu of flowers, out of respect for Normas love of little children and animals, donations can be made to any childrens charity or animal care society of your choice. Donations could also be made to Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 13 at 1:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Private interment will be held at St. Saviours Cemetery, R.M. of Odanah at a later date. Those we love dont go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, still very dear. We love you Mum, Gran, You were always there for us.
