FREDA OCTIVA MAE THORDARSON On Friday, September 21, 2001, at the Portage District General Hospital, Freda Octiva Mae Thordarson, of Portage la Prairie, widow of the late Snorri Thordarson, passed away at the age of 84 years. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 25 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Ross Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at the Amaranth Cemetery. Freda was born on June 10, 1917, daughter of Joseph and Amelia Cooper. She lived most of her life in Amaranth, MB. She moved into the Oddfellows Towers at Portage la Prairie in 1988 where she has resided until her passing. Freda enjoyed a quiet life and especially enjoyed playing bingo, cards and she loved to read. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Snorri Thordarson, sister Hazel Finnbogasin; brothers, Tom, Percy, Vernon "Tabs" and Bill Cooper. Her life is celebrated by her son Joe, daughter-in-law Diane, grandson Ben and special friend Kristin Middleton. Also surviving is her brother Doug Cooper and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
