Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATERYNA SZUMINSKY Peacefully, after a brief illness on Monday, October 15, 2001 at Riverview Health Centre, aged 76 years, beloved wife of the late Ilko Szuminsky. Kateryna was born in Ukraine. She was separated from her family during the Second World War. After the war, she moved to England where she and Ilko were married in 1949. They came to Canada in 1953 and resided in Norwood Flats for over 45 years. Kateryna was a homemaker, raising her children and grandchildren. She worked part time at Winnipeg Textiles. Kateryna was a very active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Parish and was honoured with a long service award by the Ukrainian Catholic Womens League of Canada. Kateryna is survived by her son Stefan (Carol) daughter Mary Ann Bujak (Leo) four grandchildren, Andrew, Tasha, Kristin and Patrick. She was predeceased by her husband Ilko of 50 years. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18 at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 390 Marion St., with Rev. I. Mostivsky officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. The family acknowledges the extraordinary efforts of the staff of A/B Units at Riverview Health Centre. They became her immediate family and support group for the past two years. The family also thanks Mary Zurowsky for the friendship, kindness and assistance she provided Mom (Baba) since Dad passed away in December 1999. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
