Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLARA MARIE SWETKO (nee HAMRAK) Passed away November 8, 2001 at Seven Oaks Hospital after a short illness. Her loving husband Frank predeceased her in 1975. Clara was born and raised in Svedlar, Slovakia, October 22, 1921 to Joseph and Klara Hamrak and immigrated to Canada in 1948. Also, in that year, she married the love of her life Frank. Family was the most important thing to Clara, sharing in many holidays and having a good laugh would always please her. She was the family pioneer by being the first to immigrate to Canada and helped to bring the rest of her family in the late 50s. She was also a singer in the German Club Choir, and a devout member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She also helped with Folklorama, cooking was a passion of Claras. She loved to write to family and friends overseas, keeping them up to date on the family here. Clara worked at Manitoba Clothing for many years and also as a domestic. Clara will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her and once again she is the family pioneer by showing us the way home to our Father. She leaves to mourn her loss, her four sisters: Margaret (Kurt) Tartsch, Westbank, BC; Elsie (Karl) Frank, Winnipeg; Charlotte (Horst) Jobst, Kelowna, BC; Irene (Rudy) Herman, Kelowna, BC; and brother John Hamrak, Atikokan, ON; nieces and nephews, Margaret (Wally) Kachanowski, Eric Frank, Peter (Marlene) Tartsch, Susan Bonin, Grant (Kolinda) Jobst, Christine Herman, Tracey English and James Jobst.
