WALTER SYMANSKI Walter passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at St. Josephs Residence on Friday, December 14, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances; and his six children, Joanne and husband John; June and partner Craig; Diane and partner Roger; Jim and wife Brenda of Vars, ON; Robert and wife Carol; and Ken and wife Dianna; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Paul, Joe and John and his sister Frances. Surviving are his brothers, Stanley of Beausejour; Tony of Selkirk, Ted of Edmonton, AB; and also his sisters, Emily Patluk of Garson; Jean and husband Frank Phillips of Wisconsin, and Bernice and husband Steve Lucek of Timmins, ON. During his lifetime Walter did a lot of traveling and headed construction projects all over Manitoba and up north. He loved fishing, boating, football games, building model ships, and bowling with all his friends. He also enjoyed gardening and all outdoor activities. He was an avid reader with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and in his later years he took particular delight in all his grand and great-grandchildren. Our family would like to thank everyone at St. Josephs Residence for the wonderful compassionate care he received during his stay and to all the friends that visited with him. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 19 between 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. and a funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to either St. Josephs Residence or the Parkinson Foundation of Canada.
