WILLIAM PERKINS (BILL / POP) Bill passed away February 24, 2002, with his family by his side. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Irene; sons, Wayne (Margaret), Bob (Marta) daughter Sharon (Dave) grandchildren, Cindy, Jennifer, Wayne Jr., Brian, Tracy, Scott and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Mikayla, Rory and Chad; brother Joe (Isabel) (Toronto) sisters, Natalie (Winnipeg) and Anne (Brockville) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. One sister, two brothers and grandson Michael predeceased Bill. Bill (Dad) enjoyed a long career with CP Rail. Retiring at 65, he turned his attention to his woodworking; his biggest enjoyment was building the cabin at Gull Lake. The numerous winter holidays to Hawaii were the highlights in his long and happy life with an occasional trip across the line thrown in. A very special thanks to all of the staff at Concordia Personal Care Home for their devoted care in his time of need. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with Chaplain John Friesen officiating. Visitation prior to service. Interment to follow at Garry Memorial Park. Flowers are gratefully declined, and donations may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
