Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTIN TAPLEY On March 5, 2002, Martin Tapley passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. Left to cherish his memory are Peg, his loving wife of 60 years; daughters, Rae Harris and Laura (Marshall) Bailey and son Paul Tapley, as well as grandchildren, Christina (Grant), Peter, Rod (Marcie), Robin and Shannon (Jeff) and great-grandson Alexander. He was predeceased by his parents, Laura and Frederick and sister Winnifred and leaves behind brothers, John and Frederick, as well as several nieces and nephews. Martin was born on December 5, 1916 in Moncton, NB, moving with his family to Edmonton and eventually Winnipeg, where he and Peg married on Valentines Day, 1942. Martin served in the 15th Field Regiment in the Royal Canadian Artillery in the Second World War. His career included positions with Northern Pacific, Moore Business Forms and Investors and he retired as Purchasing Agent of Brandon University in 1982. Martin was a loving husband, father and grandfather, sharing his love of nature, art, cottage life, golf, curling and cross-country skiing with family and friends. Father He had a talent rare in this troubled world; He had a gift that is given, I think, to few. He was constant by nature he kept his promises; He could love one woman his whole life through. He never broke his word he was always there, As sure as the seasons summer and winter and spring And we never knew, till Death hid the jewel from sight, Such faithfulness is a rare and precious thing. Gwendolyn Niles Martins family would like to thank the staff on B1 at the Riverview Health Centre for the wonderful care they provided. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Donald Street and Graham Avenue, on Friday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. If friends so desire, a donation in Martins name may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
