ZENON BORIS SYRNICK February 9, 1933 - April 28, 2002 Suddenly, in MacGregor, MB, after an illness of Diabetes and Congestive Heart Failure Disease. Mourned by his loving wife Lauraine; son Kelvin (Shirley) and daughter Karen McDonald (Andrew) his only sister Sonya; niece Simone; and father-in-law Laurie Smith. Zenon loved with pride our grandchildren, Nicholas and Julia McDonald, and Jessica and Alexander Syrnick, who will miss him greatly. Zenon was born in Ethelbert, MB, the only loving son of the late John H. and Nel Anastasia (Djaman) Syrnick. He was an Alumni of St. Johns Collegiate and University of Manitoba. Zenons teaching career began in Russell, followed by a year each in MacGregor and Portage, along with three years in Vanderhoof, BC, four years in West Vancouver, BC. He retired after 23 years at River East Collegiate. Zenons passions were his family, chess, horse racing, books, R.V. travel, photography and camping. He especially enjoyed our R.V. winters in the U.S. South and B.C. and our summers at Rock Garden Campground. Loving husband of 42 years, you will be deeply missed. You left so many treasured and fabulous memories for your wife, children and family. Your unconditional love and guidance will be held forever in our hearts. At Zenons request no funeral will take place. A private family memorial and celebration of Zenons life will be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations made to the Winnipeg Chess Club, c/o University of Winnipeg, or to the Manitoba Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Clarkes Funeral Home, MacGregor in care of arrangements.
