She was also predeceased by her parents, Leopold and Lidia, and by her sister Erika. Hertha will be sadly missed, loved and remembered by her two sons, Dale (Barb) of Winnipeg and Gordon (Marie) of Los Angeles; grandchildren Jenelle, Kristin and Blake; sister Hilda and brother Walter of Germany; many nephews and nieces especially Diane from Edmonton. Hertha was born in Germany in 1929 and immigrated to Canada after the war. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She supported her family in all their endeavours. She took great pleasure in spoiling them. Hertha was a gifted homemaker. Everything had to be in its proper place. She will also be remembered for the homemade doughnuts and buns and for making sure that when she hired people to do work that it was done properly. She was the self-proclaimed supervisor on the job. She enjoyed her Saturday shopping trips, travelling to Germany and Los Angeles, playing bridge, gardening and keeping in touch with friends and family. Special thanks to Guido Novel and attending police officers for their support. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 4 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Herthas memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8 or to a charity of ones choice.
