She will be lovingly missed and her memories will be cherished by her husband of 53 years, Michael; her daughter Angela Chubala (Bob) sons, Richard Szczepanski (Susan) and Joseph Szczepanski (Cathy) and grandchildren, Kyle and Christine Chubala. She also leaves to mourn her sisters, Janina Klosko (Karol) and Pawlina Debski, both of New Jersey, Stasia Misa of Poland; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Mary Szczepanski; sister-in-law Susan Mazur; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Aniela and Wojciech; her sisters, Maria and Jozefa; and her brothers, Franek and Jozef. Weronika was born in Poland in 1923 and immigrated to Canada in 1950 with her husband, Michael. She was a devoted and selfless mother who took great pride and joy in her children and grandchildren. Weronika enjoyed sewing, and crocheting and loved to create special things for friends and family. No job was impossible for Weronika. She was a wonderful cook, and no one ever left her home hungry. She also greatly enjoyed gardening. She was a longtime member of the womens auxiliary of The Society of Polish Combatants and spent many hours in the company of friends preparing foods for a variety of functions. Weronika was a devout Catholic and drew great strength though her faith. She will be remembered for her compassion and her wonderful sense of humour. Mom, you will always be in our hearts and minds and we will miss you deeply. Prayers will be held on Thursday, June 13 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. We would like to thank the emergency and third floor Unit 4 staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion in Moms time of need. Flowers gratefully declined.
