JOSEPH SWITSKY 1926 - 2002 Peacefully, on June 9, 2002, at his home, Joseph passed away at the age of 75. He will be greatly missed by his family, Anne (Stelmach) daughters, Christine, Karen (Boyd) Chwartacki, and Tracy (Rudy) Klassen; sons, Glen, Ken, Ron, Doug, Dave (Fay), and Darryl (Lori) grandchildren, Sinden, Shelly, Jennifer, Justin, and Melissa. He is also survived by his sisters, Stephanie, Jean, and Nellie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his father Thomas and mother Tekla. He was born on September 16, 1926 in Winnipeg. At a young age Joes family moved to Highland Glen, MB, where he began farming with his father. At the age of 18 he served with the Canadian Armed Forces for a short period of time. Joe married Anne in 1948 and together raised nine children. Along with farming, Joe worked for CN Railway for a number of years. He also held various positions in the construction industry and, in later years, retired as a maintenance engineer. Throughout his life, Joe enjoyed numerous outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting and camping. He was well known as a widely talented man and took pride in carpentry projects, mechanics and agriculture. He never refused anyone who was in need of a helping hand. He will be sadly missed, as he was an inspiration to his family and those who knew him. Prayers will be held on Thursday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14 at 1:00 p.m., also at the Chapel. Interment will follow in Blessed Virgin Mary Parish Cemetery, East Selkirk. Pallbearers will be his sons. "Rest in Peace, Dad. We Love You Very Much" CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
