KATHLEEN TAIT (nee McLEOD) Peacefully, with her family at her side, on July 8, 2002 at Pembina Manitou Care Home, Kae passed away in her 96th year. She will be sadly missed by her three children, Jack (Judy), Ray (Bette), Ila (Lyle) Ehnes; her grandchildren, Randall, Gary, Sharon, Leigh, Brad, Cathy, Cliff and Brent, and her six great-grandchildren. Predeceased by three brothers, two sisters and survived by sisters, Noreen Sorby, Sadie Hrycaiko and brother-in-law Terrick Hamilton; as well as many nieces and nephews. Kae was born November 26, 1906 in Belmont and married Sam Tait in 1934. They spent their first years on the family farm near Manitou, then moved to town in 1954. She resumed her teaching career there, always speaking fondly of her grade 2ers. They moved to Winnipeg in 1966 and when Sam died in 1978, Kae returned to Manitou to live, where she was happiest. She was a beautiful lady, inside and out, with many friends of all ages, strongly devoted to her family. Her kindness, determination and strength became a model for all. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Manitou United Church. A private family interment will follow. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the Homecare team and the staff at the Pembina Manitou Personal Care Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitou Care Home. Grahams Funeral Home, in care of arrangements.
