BETTE THORNSON (nee MCMANUS) Suddenly, but peacefully, at her residence, on Wednesday, July 10, 2002, Bette Thornson aged 64 years of Selkirk, MB. Bette will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ray of 27 years; son Mark Howard and his children, Nicole and Alex; daughter Shawn Keim and her children, Jesse and Kaylea; sisters, Mary (John) Fial and Eleanor McManus; brothers, Lawrence and Myles (Sharon) McManus; niece Lauren (Ken) Kembel and nephews, Jack (Carman) McManus and Todd McManus. She will also be sadly missed by her special friends, Kathy and Rod Kesler; Orville and Edie Marshall and Fred Weiss. Bette was predeceased by Griff Howard and brothers, Jack and Tom McManus and nephew Joe McManus. Bette had a love for life tending to her garden and working with arts and crafts, but most importantly was love for her family. An open house in celebration of Bettes life will be held at her home on Sunday, July 14 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Selkirk EMT, Roland Fontaine and Wayne Kohinski for all their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Bettes memory to the Childrens Wish Foundation of Canada, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2. Through Bettes generosity, she has touched the lives of many people too numerous to mention. She was very loved and will be greatly missed. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
