Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memoryat the Portage la Prairie General Hospital, afteROY TIBBETT On Tuesday, December 10, 2002 r a lengthy battle with cancer, Roy peacefully passed away with his family at his side. Funeral service will be held in the Trinity United Church, Saturday, December 14, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ross Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, Treherne, MB at 2:30 p.m. Roy was born April 26, 1930 in Waskada, MB to Orval and Madge Tibbett. In 1934 the family relocated to the Wingham community, north of Elm Creek, MB. After receiving his education at Wingham Consolidated School he farmed in the community until his retirement in 1993. Roy and Donalda then moved to Portage la Prairie in 1997. As well as farming Roy drove a school bus for 34 years and used his love of fixing and building things to develop many skills in the carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing fields. Roy enjoyed many hobbies but his greatest passions were dancing, golfing and camping. He enjoyed the many hours he spent pattern dancing on a regular basis and camping with the many friends he formed over the last several years. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 45 years Donalda; one daughter Jeanne (Barry) Bohn and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Stephanie; one brother George (Lorraine). He is also survived by three sisters, Jean (Don), Norma (Vic) and Marj; and three sisters-in-law, Lorena, Lynda and Anna; along with several nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by both his parents; one brother Ross; and three brothers-in-law, Gerald Lehmann, Morley English, and James Pogue. Roy never lost his hope, dignity or his sense of humour and those who knew him will truly miss a good neighbour and friend. The Omega Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
