ANNA SYGANIEC (nee KUCHARSKI) Peacefully at the Treherne Hospital on Wednesday, December 25, 2002, Mrs. Anna Syganiec of Rathwell, MB passed away at the age of 80 years. She leaves to mourn six children, Micheal (Agnes), Paul (Stella), Josie (Bob) Towes, Jenny Schmidt, Raymond (Simone), and Dale; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn two brothers, Martine (Gloria) and John (Elizabeth) eight sisters, Mary Kucharski, Cassie Sinclare, Lena Okapiec, Alice (Willy) Fiebelkorn, Nelly (Sandy) Lyal, Jenny Morden, Elizabeth Larsen, Orish (Bob) Whittier; one sister-in-law Josephine Kucharski; two brothers-in-law, John Toews and Alex Kohut and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1954; a companion Pete Sloboda in 1965; her parents, Sophie in 1945 and Nikefor in 1966; two brothers, Joe and Alex; and by two sisters, Polly and Ellen. Our memories of Mom that we will always remember are the love of the farm and the hard work that she did. She enjoyed gardening, picking berries and mushrooms and going fishing. She was well known for her beautiful patchwork quilts, crochet and knitting. She always loved visits and phone calls from family and friends. Prayers will be held at Adams Funeral Home on Monday, December 30 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 31 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Marcel Damphousse officiating. Interment to follow in the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
