HANS TABAR Peacefully on December 31, 2002, Hans Tabar passed away with his beloved wife Editha by his side. Hans also leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Doris; son John and Deanne; and his grandchildren, who were his joy, Andrea, Jonathan, Ryan and Kaitlin. Hans was born in Lovrin, Romania, on April 6, 1915. Hans married Editha on December 25, 1946. They emigrated from Germany with the children to Canada in 1954. Hans worked for Baldry Engineer and Pile Foundation until his retirement in 1980. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and loved to putter in the garden during the summer, and in the winter spent endless hours woodworking. Opa was fondly known as "Mr. Fix It" to his grandchildren. Whenever anything broke, the grandchildren would say, "Dont worry Oma! Opa will fix it." Hans enjoyed the numerous summer trips he and Editha made with their friends Joschi and Nana Thiejer. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hans memory to Riverview Health Centre.
