CHANGE OF SERVICE DATE GIBSON EMERSON SYMINGTON 1918 - 2003 Peacefully, as he slept in his home, in Winnipeg, Gibson Symington, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2003. Born on February 17, 1918, he served in the military from 1939 to 1945. Married to Ruth Symington, his wife of 40 years, Gib spent a large part of his life in Thunder Bay, ON where he served as Grand Master of the Shuniah Lodge. His career with Dominion Life Insurance Company took him and his family to Winnipeg in 1970, where he remained until his passing. His lifelong good health allowed him to engage in his passions of travel, woodworking, photography, and his grandchildrens activities. He was predeceased by his brother Jim Symington, his wife Ruth, and son Gary. He is survived by his son Kevin and his wife Ellen and grandson Kent from Radville, SK. Also survived by his son Douglas, his wife Debbie and grandchildren, Travis, Derrin and Jessica of Pennsylvania, as well as his brother Bill Symington. During the course of his 85 years, Gib touched the lives of many friends and acquaintances. Viewing will take place on Wednesday, April 2 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday, April 3 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. We invite you to join the family in a celebration of his life on Thursday, April 3 at 3:15 p.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Interment will follow at St. Vital Cemetery, with a reception following at the family residence.
