Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH "EDEE" SZTURM Edith "Edee" Szturm, beloved wife of Frank, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Friday, June 13, 2003. Edee was born on June 16, 1942 in Sifton, MB. She graduated High School in Dauphin and then went to Brandon University where she graduated teacher training. Edee studied piano in Dauphin as well as Voice at Brandon University. Edee has played the organ at church since the age of 14. For two years Edee taught school at Sacred Heart in Brandon, before her marriage to Frank. Frank and Edee would have shared 40 years of marriage this June. Together, Edee and Frank raised three children. It was not until many years later that Edee returned to the work place as a lab technician for Wyeth Ayerst Organics. It was there, that she developed many lasting friendships. Edee was a very creative person. Her sense of creativity manifested itself in unique crafts, decorating projects and knitted items. Edee enjoyed spending time in her garden. She loved to try new varieties of flowers and jumped into any horticultural challenge. Trips to the local greenhouses, always put a smile on her face. Edee treasured her grandchildren and they were an important part of her life. Edee was a faithful member of St. Augustines Parish. Her strong faith uplifted her in the joyful times of family life and sustained her through her difficult battle with cancer. Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are her loving husband Frank, children, Kathleen (Dan) Moquin and grandchildren, Francis and Gabrielle of Parry Sound, ON; Chris (Linda) Szturm, of Winnipeg; Mary (Alan) Mickey and grandchildren, Conan and Emerson of Brandon; mother Victoria Hrushowy; brothers, Philip (Electa) Hrushowy and niece Lisa Quinn (Todd) and David Hrushowy of Brandon and his children, Maggie and Ivana. Edee was predeceased by her sister Irene Hrushowy and father John Hrushowy. Prayers will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Wednesday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Augustines Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, June 19 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Eric Giddins officiating. Interment to follow at the Brandon Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
