Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS SWIFT On October 13, 2003 our beloved husband and father Douglas Swift passed away peacefully at the Grace General Hospital. Besides his loving wife of 61 years Carrie, he is also survived by three sons, Brian (Fern), Fred (Sandra), Greg (Mona) their families and his brother Dean. He was predeceased by his daughter Linda and brother Marshall. Doug was born on February 12, 1920 in Minnedosa, MB and moved to Winnipeg in the mid 1940s. In 1950 Doug began a lengthy career of 35 years with CNR and Via Rail. Around the same time he began his own company S&D Messenger with his partner and friend Jim Dunphy. Dougs generosity, compassion and family devotion will be greatly missed. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Rob, Gary, Janice, Rachael, Amber, Tannis, Troy, Chelsea and great-grandchildren, Amanda, Hunter, and Jax. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dougs memory to the palliative care unit at the Grace Hospital Hospice Fund, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7.
