Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM LYLE SYLVESTER On Monday, November 3, 2003 at the Boyne Lodge in Carman, MB, Lyle Sylvester aged 88 years, beloved husband of Dorothy Sylvester of Carman, MB. Lyle is survived by his wife of 59 years Dorothy; his children, Joan (Ron) Russell of Portage la Prairie, Blake (Pat) Sylvester of Lockport, Doug Sylvester, daughter-in-law Linda Sylvester of Carman, and Nevae Sylvester of Winnipeg. He is also survived by five grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; two brothers, Glenn and Quentin Sylvester; one sister June Drysdale; one sister-in-law Hazel Sylvester and numerous nieces and nephews. Lyle was predeceased by his parents, one brother Have; one brother-in-law Wilf and two sisters-in-law, Madeline and Ethel Sylvester. William Lyle, third child of Frank and Agnes Sylvester, was born May 27, 1915 at Carman. He married Dorothy Ann Johnson on June 5, 1944. Following Lyle and Dorothys marriage they lived on the home farm. (NW 28-5-5) Whenever possible Lyle would take time off from work to go fishing. Lyle was an avid hunter of deer, duck, geese, and prairie chickens. He curled for several years and has won many prizes, including a silver tea service. Baseball and hockey were other sports he loved to play. Lyle also enjoyed golfing at the Carman Golf Course. He was also an avid gardener, and loved to spend time in the yard. A private funeral service will be held from Doyles Funeral Chapel in Carman with Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. Memorial donations may be made to the Boundary Trails Hospital, Box 2000, Winkler, MB, R6W 1H8, the Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, Carman, MB, R0G 0J0 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
