MILDRED MARGARET (DEMPSEY) SWITZER
Date of Passing: Dec 04, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED MARGARET (DEMPSEY) SWITZER At the age of 90 years death came gently for Millie. We feel sadness at losing her and give thanks for her life. Millie was born in Carberry, where she lived most of her life until her death on December 4, 2003. A veteran of the second great war, at her discharge she married Fred Switzer. They worked together in the grocery business until their children, Joanne and John were born, at which time her main focus became their family. For a short time the family lived in Winnipeg, before she and Fred retired to Carberry. She was a loyal dedicated mother and a loving champion of her family. She was interested and curious about the happenings in the lives of John, his sons, Chris and Ryan and his work on his organic farm. She followed the interests of Joanne and her husband John Stiver as though they were her own. The Stiver children, Lauren and Dan and his wife Lisa (Dyck) were a source of fun as she kept up with their hockey, riding and career developments. She had a strong loyalty to her parents, Tom and Delia Dempsey; her sister Effie Balfour and her dear brother Frank Dempsey. Funeral service will be held at the Carberry United Church on Monday, December 8 at 11:00 a.m. If friends wish, donations may be made to honour Millies memory to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (P.O. Box 767, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2L4), the Carberry United Church (P.O. Box 239, Carberry, MB R0K 0H0) or the Carberry Personal Care Home (Carberry, MB R0K 0H0). Whites Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
