WILLIAM "BILL" SYDOR Peacefully, on Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at the age of 69, Bill Sydor passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre. Bill leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Sandy Sydor (Jamie Keough) and Nancy Lund; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Keira and Rory; his brothers, Joe, Winnipeg, Tony, Saskatoon, Steve (Darlene), Guelph, Brian, Mission, BC; his sisters, Stella, Harrison Hot Springs, Annie, Oakburn and Sonia, Harrison Hot Springs; and also many special nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his father John, his mother Mary and his sister Helen. Bill was born January 7, 1934 in Gilbert Plains, MB. He left Manitoba as a teenager to seek his fortunes in British Columbia, where he worked logging and later as a heavy duty equipment operator building roads. In 1962 he returned to Manitoba for knee surgery and married his nurse Brenda Witwicki. Bill worked as a carman and welder at CN Transcona Shops and ran his own roofing business. Poor health forced him to retire at the age of 50, but he continued his business ventures. He enjoyed curling, a good game of cards and fishing. He enjoyed attending the Ukrainian Festival and country weddings, where he loved to talk and dance for hours. The family would like to thank Dr. P. Warren, the staff at Deer Lodge Centre 4 East and 4 West and Mohammed of Executive Care. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, December 15 at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with a viewing one half hour prior to the service. Interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust also in Me; trust Me also. In My Fathers house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would not have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. John 14: 1 - 4.
