DMYTRO SZEWCZUK It is with great sorrow that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our beloved father and grandfather Dmytro, at St. Boniface Hospital on Saturday, February 14, 2004. He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted family, sons, Peter and Eddy, son George and wife Danuta; grandchildren, Wanda and Kris. He was predeceased by his wife Jozefa of 36 years in January of 1998, and his parents and sister who resided in the Ukraine. Born in Synkiw, Ternopil, Ukraine on July 17, 1924, Dmytro came to Canada in 1948. He married the love of his life Jozefa in 1962 and together they made Winnipeg their home since that time. He loved gardening and spending time with his family. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 390 Marion St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Wednesday, February 18 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. John Mostivsky officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. We extend special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital who did everything to ensure that he would be comfortable in his final hours. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in Dmytros memory be made to the St. Boniface General Hospital and Research Foundation, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6.
