JAMES A. TARTE Peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2004 James passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 87. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 61 years Mildred; sons, Jim (Judy) and Ken (Sheila) granddaughters, Michelle (Dwayne) and Laura; great-grandchildren, Kirk, Scott and Morgan. James served during the Second World War with the Canadian navy and was on loan to the British Navy serving on The Flagship "Duke of York". Dad led a full and active life and was involved in many organizations which included the Winnipeg League for the Hard of Hearing and served as president for ten years; Windsor Masonic Lodge #138; was an active member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church for 50 years. James worked for the CPR as conductor for 40 years until his retirement in 1979. The family wishes to thank the Deer Lodge Centre for their wonderful compassion and care to Dad during the past two years. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 2 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3.
