Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVETTE THOMPSON (nee PHANEUF) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Yvette Thompson, our beloved wife, mother and Nana on March 12, 2004 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Her memory will be cherished by Doug, her husband of 45 years; her daughter Lynn Riddell and son-in-law Brian; her son Duke and daughter-in-law Pia; and her grandchildren, Lea, Sophia and Gregory. Yvette is also survived by her brothers, Paul Phaneuf (Lucille) and Roger Phaneuf (Lucille), sister-in-law Ethel Brocklehurst (Scotty) and brother-in-law George Miller; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Alphonse and Alfreda Phaneuf. Yvette was born on the family farm near Richer, MB on February 15, 1926. As a young adult she moved into the city of Winnipeg, and then lived briefly in Montreal. She has made her home in Winnipeg since. Yvette was a generous person who spent countless hours sewing for herself and her family. Yvette took great pride in keeping a comfortable home and was always there to lend a hand during home renovations. Until the final few years of her life she was an avid reader and enjoyed completing a crossword puzzle and playing a game of cards. She especially enjoyed traveling with Doug throughout Canada and the United States in the camper van they retrofitted themselves. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and aides at the St. Boniface General Hospital, especially 6E Geriatrics, for their kind and gentle care. Thank you also to family and friends for their support during Yvettes hospital stay. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m at Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Marys Road. A private family interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, donations may be made in Yvettes memory to a charity of your choice.
