VIOLET (nee JOHNSON) BOYCE It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Violet Boyce, aged 100 years, five days, who passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2004 at the Crocus Court Personal Care Home, Roblin, MB. Violet Johnson was born in Winnipeg on February 17, 1904 a daughter of James and Maryanne (nee Morris) Johnson. At an early age, she moved to Makaroff, MB, where she attended the Makaroff School. On November 27, 1927 Violet was united in marriage to Stanley Boyce in Winnipeg and this union was blessed with two daughters, Louise and Edna. Violet was predeceased by her parents, James and Maryanne (nee Morris) Johnson; her husband Stanley Boyce; three sisters, Sarah Vivian, Anne Delve, and Grace Bangle; and one brother Jim Johnson; and son-in-law Charles Elder. Violet will be sadly missed by her daughters, Louise (Merle) Currey of Comox, BC and Edna Elder of Roblin; her grandchildren, Garry Currey, Robert (Audrey) Currey, Randy Currey, Deanna Condly, Daryl Elder, Keith Elder, Bryan (Colleen) Elder, Darren Elder; and her great-grandchildren, Graham Condly, Daniel Condly, Brooke Elder, Clark Elder, Justine Elder, and Kathryn Elder; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home, Roblin, with Pastor Shawn Paul of The New Life Fellowship Church, officiating. Casket bearers were grandsons, Daryl Elder, Keith Elder, Bryan Elder, Darren Elder, Randy Currey, Clark Elder. Committal service was at Makaroff District Cemetery. Memorial gifts to honour the life of Violet Boyce may be made to Crocus Court Personal Care Home, Box 940, Roblin MB, ROL 1PO.
