DORIS TATARYN On Tuesday, April 20, 2004 after a courageous battle with lung cancer, Doris Tataryn passed away at the Stonewall Hospital. Dora, her true first name, was born in Prawda, MB on February 29, 1928. She will be fondly remembered by her husband Nick and only child Radford; sisters, Violet (Albert) Thereault of Montreal and Annette Ryder of Calgary; brother Mike Dmytrow of Prawda, MB and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Anastasia and Wasyl Dmytrow; brothers, John, Nick and Peter (Ann) Dmytrow; sisters, Polly Dmytrow, Mary (Frank) Prokopsky, Anne (Bill) Pukalo and Teenie (William) Prokopsky. Living her childhood years in Prawda on a farm, soon after her parents passed away, she moved to Winnipeg at a early age of 14 to get various jobs in Winnipeg. Her first job was at Misericordia Hospital to serve nurses meals, later at various sewing companies (Sterling and Fashion Cloak), until marrying her husband Nick on a farm in Grosse Isle in 1956. Of the various things she enjoyed in life were sewing clothes and drapes, cooking, gardening, painting, photography, house remodelling. She loved animals, music, dancing. She enjoyed studying various religions but never belonged to one. A very modest, caring, thoughtful person who liked tranquility. A true princess inside and out, with a heart of gold, she will be greatly missed.
