Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH SYDOR May 4, 1930 - May 22, 2004 Joe passed away at the Seven Oaks General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He had just celebrated his 74th birthday. He is survived by his two children, Myrna (Oskar) Friedenberg and Don (Sandra) Sydor; and his four grandchildren, Kristen and Stephen Friedenberg, and Dustin and Brennan Sydor. Also left to mourn his passing are his siblings, Steve (Darlene) Sydor, Stella Syrette, Tony Sydor, Annie Pikoruk, Brian Sydor, Sonia Sydor; and the mother of his children, Gladys Smith. The family would like to express gratitude to his cousin Mary Johnson and his dear friends, Fred (Helen) Toker for their care and compassion. Joe was predeceased by his parents John Sydor and Mary Sydor; brother Bill Sydor and sister Helen Sydor in infancy. Known by all as "Honest Joe", he took great pride in a job well-done. Most of his adult life was spent working as a highly-skilled Heavy-Duty Mechanic and Crane Operator throughout Northern and Central Manitoba and Alberta. Joe had a love for life and fought his illnesses with great strength. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., with viewing prior. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre.
