ANN TANGUAY (KARNAFEL)
Date of Passing: Jun 22, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANN TANGUAY (nee KARNAFEL) With sadness we announce the passing of our dear sister, aunt, and great-aunt on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Victoria General Hospitals ICU in her 76th year. Ann was predeceased by her parents Michael and Maria Karnafel, and brother Joseph. She leaves to mourn, sisters Kay Gelata, Margaret Chongva, Terry (Harry) Enns, and brothers Steve (Verna) Karnafel and Andy (Yolana) Karnafel. She will also be greatly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as her own. From the time she was a youngster helping on the farm, Ann was always a hard worker. An extremely talented seamstress, she spent many years sewing for Gerard Kennedy Shirts and doing alterations for the Bay department store, as well as customized dress making for family and friends. Ann surely had a green thumb. Her garden and flowers were her joy. A "giver", you could not leave Anns home without a treat that she made or grew. When Ann was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease and Rheumatoid Arthritis about five years ago, she tried so valiantly to stay in her home. She spent months at Victoria General Hospital, and then signed herself over to Fort Garry Care Centre, where she resided under their loving care for three years. Thank you all. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Rd., with Rev. Fr. P. Morand officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Len Karnafel, Rick, Lawrence, Brad, Susan, and John Enns. We wish to express our sincere thanks to all at the Victoria General Hospital, and the ICU staff for their compassionate care. Also a special thank you to friends Ethyl, Dorothy, and Ollie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society Canada, 4211 Yonge St., Suite 316, Toronto, Ontario, M2P 2A9. We will always love you, Ann. You are now in Gods embrace.
