Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL SZCZURKO November 25, 1925- June 23, 2004 It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Szczurko announces his peaceful passing after having shown great courage, dignity and love. Mike is lovingly remembered by his wife and partner of 59 years, Walja; daughters, Christine (Willem) Sauer, Irene (John) Olfert; grandchildren, Margriet, Kirsten, Michael, Vincent, Justin and Rhea; great-grandchildren, Naomi, Zoe and Isaac; and brother Stan (Mildred). Born in Poland, Mike spent 14 years in Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1955. He was a successful heavy duty mechanic until his retirement. All who remember him will miss his sense of humour, great charm, loving nature and generosity. The family wishes to thank Drs. Kasper, Wong and Associates, as well as the excellent and caring nursing staff of GA-4, at the Health Sciences Centre. Prayers will be held on Monday, June 28, 8:00 p.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 29, 10:30 a.m., at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mikes memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Diabetes Society.
