OUR BELOVED TREVOR With heavy hearts, the family of Trevor Neil Tanner announce the tragic ending of his short life on Sunday, July 4, 2004. Trevor was born in Winnipeg on March 4, 1982. His parents, Marcheta and Jack, are shattered by the loss of Trevor and will never be the same. Younger brother Luke always looked up to his big brother, and now he will have to look up much higher. The family has special memories of their trip to South Dakota, including Trevors helicopter ride with his Mom. Trevor, Luke and his Dad shared many great fishing memories on the lakes and rivers of Manitoba. Trevor was cherished by all his grandparents. Gram (Carol Tanner) has many happy memories of him as a happy-go-lucky little boy at Gull Lake, with his big brown eyes, dark tan and blond hair. Trevor also loved his Nanny and Papa (Phyllis and Neil Pineau). They spent a lot of time with Trev at home and at their cottage at Childs Lake. Whether they fished, skied, hiked, or just enjoyed the outdoors and being together, Trevor loved spending time at Nanny and Papas and they loved having him. Trevor had many aunts and uncles who cared about him so much. To them, they have lost much more than a nephew. They have lost a part of their family and a piece of their heart. Trevor also had many loving cousins. Some of his cousins were more like brothers and sisters, and are now left with a void that can never be filled. Jackie, his extremely special girlfriend who brought endless love and happiness to him, will also deeply miss Trevor. Their special bond and relationship meant the world to Trevor, and to his entire family. We are all pleased that Trevor had the opportunity to enjoy the special love and friendship that they had for each other. Trevor was most often seen with a smile on his face and a skateboard on-hand. He was a kid-at-heart, absolutely loved Christmas, and was always the one who would build the Lego, Kinder Surprise and other toys for his brother and cousins. He had a passion for skateboarding, music and playing baseball. Trevor had an artistic flair, with a special talent for drawing. He was also involved in many other sports and activities while growing up in St. Vital. He attended Glenwood School, Windsor School and Glenlawn Collegiate, and made many close and longtime friends along the way. Trevors easygoing attitude and willingness to help others were admired by everyone he met. He had a kind-hearted soul and was respectful to those he knew. We will miss Trevor and his beautiful smile, gentle nature and special charm, more than he will ever know. A memorial service will be held in Trevors honour at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) on Saturday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will take place in the family plot in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. *Casual dress is requested.* In lieu of flowers, donations in Trevors honour can be made to MOVA (Manitoba Organization of Victim Advocates), or to Cancer Care Manitoba, which had special meaning for Trevor.
