Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAY CECILIA THOMPSON It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of their mother, May Cecilia Thompson on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at the Carman Memorial Hospital in Carman, MB at the age of 80. May was born in Badger, MB on April 18, 1924 where she grew up. In 1943 she married Alfred Thompson from Piney where they settled and raised five children. May and Alfred enjoyed 60 years of life together, Alfred running the business, and May as a homemaker and mom. In her younger years, May was an active community member and loved to curl. She also enjoyed the many evenings playing bingo with her friends. May continued her enjoyment of sports as she watched her grandchildren involved in hockey, baseball, curling and other activities. She loved her family. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Sheila (Bill) Sawka, Judi (Richard) Schaeffer, Connie Halvorson, Kerry (Linda), and Jeffrey (Marilyn) 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred in 2003, her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 25, at 11:00 a.m. at Piney Community Church in Piney, MB. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Box 12013 Stn. BRM B., Toronto, ON M7Y 2L3. "With all our love, you will never leave us."
