WASYL MICHAEL SWYSTUN On November 12, 2004, Wasyl Michael Swystun, aged 69 years, the beloved husband of Giselle Swystun, passed away in Surrey, BC after a lengthy illness. He was born in Winnipeg, MB, the son of the late Wasyl and Olga Swystun. He received his L.L.B. degree from the University of Manitoba in 1959 and his L.L.M. degree in 1965 and practiced law in Winnipeg until he moved to British Columbia. For the past 25 years, in British Columbia, he was involved in many business ventures in addition to law. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons Michael (Jennifer) and John of Surrey, BC, his sister Darcia Ratuski of Winnipeg, MB and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Vsevolod John and Nestor. Funeral services were held at the Tsawwassen Alliance Church, in Tsawwassen, BC on Tuesday, November 16. A private family memorial service was held at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave., on Tuesday, November 16, with Rev. Father J. Buciora officiating.
