RAE STUART THOMPSON 83 years Born at La Riviere, MB in 1921, died December 17, 2004 at Maple Ridge, BC. Rae served in the navy during the Second World War returning to raise his family in Charleswood, MB. He took early retirement from Greyhound Bus Lines to campaign Standardbred race horses, primarily in the midwestern states basing his stable in Illinois for over 30 years. He retired from racing in the 1990s and moved to Maple Ridge. Rae was predeceased by a son Rae Jr, daughter-in-law Sandra and by his sister Doreen. He is survived by his wife Florence (nee Foster); brother Bob of Winnipeg; and sister Helen of Baldwinsville, NY; son Dennis (Valerie) of Maple Ridge; granddaughter Jackie Gillard (Shane) of Albion, IL; grandsons, Mac (Khadouj) of Wichita, Kansas, Jim (Michel) of Bellinghajm, WA and David (Roberta) of Wainwright, AB; and great-grandchildren, Blake, Ariel, Gabrielle, Robert, Christopher and Omnia. All of our lives are a little smaller now.
