Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILIP NESTOR SYNCHYSHYN On January 4, 2005 at Riverview Care Centre, Philip Synchyshyn, beloved father, brother, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 67 years. He is survived by sons, David (Kyla), Darren, and grandson Pierce. He also leaves to mourn his passing, Sandra Synchyshyn; brothers, Charlie (Sonya) Synchyshyn, Leslie (Pat) Synchyshyn; sister Victoria (Peter) Ripko; brother-in-law Dennis Konrad; sister-in-law Ollie Konrad. He was predeceased by brother Steve and sister Mary. Dad was born on November 27, 1937 in Clanwilliam, MB to Nick and Nelly Synchyshyn, who immigrated to Canada from the Ukraine. Growing up on the family farm with his three brothers and two sisters, he acquired many skills such as carpentry, mechanics and horticulture. As a young man, Philip moved to Winnipeg, where he met and married Sandra Konstantenuk and they remained married for 42 years. Together they raised two sons, David and Darren and spent summers at family farms in Mountain Road, MB and Canora, SK where Dad was able to climb back into the combine and help with harvest. Dad was employed by Swift Packers until their closure in the 80's and then worked very hard for both CN and Burns Meats during most of the mid 80's to the 90's. He continued working for Burns / Maple Leaf until illness came about two years ago. His hard work ensured his family was always looked after and allowed for a memorable family vacation in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and his yearly trek to the Ukrainian Festival in Dauphin, MB. When he wasn't working, Dad loved to dance, visit friends and family, play Cribbage with his brothers and his son Darren, who cared for him on a daily basis during his final two years. Dad also enjoyed caring for his perfect lawn, tending his garden, and was an avid Blue Bomber fan. This fall, he was blessed with grandson, Pierce, and they spent a wonderful Christmas together at his home. Dad and Grandpa will be missed, but will live forever in our hearts. The family would like to thank the following people, GD 4th Floor Health Sciences Centre, Home Care - Peter, Riverview Care Centre.
