STEPHEN SWIRSKY On April 10, 2005 at Seven Oaks Hospital aged 101 years, formerly of Whytewold MB. Steve was born on January 4, 1904 on the family farm located in the R.M. of Rockwood Munc. Winnipeg Beach, MB. Dad attended Proutt School, after completing school he went with his uncle to Lorraine, Ohio where he worked at National Tube Co. There he was promoted to mill inspector. While in the States he furthered his education by obtaining his instructors certificate in Auto Mechanics. He then returned to Canada and taught at Manitoba Technical Institute and remained an instructor for approximately 10 years. He then realized his dream by establishing a repair business in Whytewold, where he kept busy up to the age of 90. Dad's great joy was Sunday dinners with his family surrounding him. Dad was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Marion in 1995 and son Robert in 2001 and his four siblings. He is survived by his three sons, Edward (Betty), Leonard (Gerri) Ronald (Linda) and only daughter Bonnie MacPherson (Dave). He will be missed also by his grandchildren, Lisa, Sherri, Jackie, Dawn, James, Mathew, David, Scott, Corinne, Chad, and Erin; great-grandchildren, Merissa, ShandaLynn, Madison and Keenan. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Winnipeg Beach at 10:00 a.m. with viewing at the church prior to on Friday, April 15 with Fr. Ernest Kamath officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Steve's name may be made to a charity of one's choice. Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
