ROBERT HENRY SZEWCZYK Peacefully at his residence on Saturday, May 28, 2005, Robert Szewczyk, aged 67 years, of Selkirk. Bob spent his childhood years on a farm in the Village of Valley River, MB. At age 10, the family moved to Dauphin. In his youth, he was an outstanding athlete. Particularly gifted in track and football. Bob attended Law School at the University of Manitoba and was admitted to the Bar in 1963. He briefly practiced law in Dauphin before settling on a lifetime practice in Selkirk, MB. Bob's joy of life was centered on people and family. It was always open house at Bob's home! Family was his passion and he loved the little ones all! He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Dawn (Craig) and Mark (Susan) and grandchildren, Jenna, Baylee, Tanner, Jordan and Ben. He is also survived by brother Arthur (Mary) and sister, Evelyn. Bob, the husband, Dad and Papa will be sadly missed. We will always remember his humour and wit. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Gilbart's Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 2 at 1:30 p.m., 309 Eveline St., in Selkirk with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
