HILDA MAE SZYMANSKI (nee BOURQUE) On Friday, June 24, 2005, our dear mother Hilda Mae Szymanski (nee Bourque) has finally gone Home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family. Formerly of Winnipeg and Melrose, MB, Hilda was born in Sand Beach, NS on July 15, 1918. She leaves her children, Elaine, Maureen (McGowan), Anthony Jr., David and their father Anthony Szymanski; her beloved granddaughter Amy; sisters, Anna and Lillian; brothers, Adelbert (Eileen) and Frederick; sisters-in-law, Florence and Eleanor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Hilda was predeceased by her parents, Augustine (Gus) and Aimee; three brothers, Joseph, Leonard (wife Augusta) and Lewis. Mom was a devoted mother who put family first. We were blessed to have had her in our lives. She was strong, generous and showed care and concern for others. Her faith played an important part in her life. Hilda will be remembered for her sense of humour and quick wit. A private family funeral service will be held in Winnipeg. Mom's wish was to be taken home to Yarmouth, NS, where Mass will be celebrated. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hilda's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
