BARBARA ELIZABETH TAYLOR 1957 - 2005 Surrounded by her mother and father, sister Eleanor and husband Philip, Barbara passed away peacefully Friday, July 22, 2005, after a brief illness at the Health Sciences Centre. Barbara was a dedicated teacher, spending her first four years in Manitoba teaching Grade two in God's Lake Narrows where she enjoyed walks in the wilderness and catching larger fish than her husband or father. Barbara joined the staff of Ste. Anne School in 1987 as the new kindergarten teacher. She became a corner stone of the Elementary school as she tended her kindergarten class, much as she tended her flower gardens, with great care, patience and love. She so enjoyed watching her students bloom. To borrow the words of a colleague - it is not how we die, but how we live that counts. Barb has made such a difference in so many children's lives - a life well lived. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Saturday, July 30 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Her family wishes to extend a heart felt thank you to the wonderful staff of the Health Sciences Centre - Ward GA5, the Neurological Step Down Unit and Medical ICU, all involved with Barb's care. They are a wonderful group of professionals who care for their patients with the utmost compassion and added personal touch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made if one wishes to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1 or CancerCare Manitoba, 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. • Phil - I am so saddened to hear of Barb's passing after such a short and heartwrenching illness. I will always remember chatting with her at David's end of the year party this past June. I appreciated the concern she showed our dog Tess that night - Tess with her bandaged head was quite a sight ! - and Barb showed such compassion and care. How appropriate that donations are going to the Humane Society. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. - Posted by: Jillian Lamothe (Co-Worker) on: Jul 26, 2005
